A friend of mine went to culinary school and explained something to me about spaghetti.

Al Dente refers to the pasta or spaghetti being sufficiently cooked such that as they are thrown against a wall, the pasta or a single noodle will stick to the wall. That is when the pasta is done.

I asked about other methods of cooking spaghetti and my friend informed me that there is also, quite simply, mushy.
